A successor of eCommerce, mCommerce means Mobile Commerce and is the buying and selling of goods or services via a mobile device. Year over year, brands are seeing roughly one-third of their traffic transition from desktop to mobile devices. For many brands, 2015 marks the first year that mobile traffic outweighs desktop traffic. Much of this is driven by social and email, and this content is primarily being consumed on mobile devices. Since mobile revenue is not growing as fast as mobile pageviews, brands have gravitated to mCommerce to capitalize on the explosion in mobile usage with optimal online shopping experiences for smaller screens and on-the-go consumers.
