Ginger Joe Grooms Its Mustache Branding

Launched in March, Ginger Joe aimed to grab a share of the a UK Ginger beer market estimated to be worth nearly £22 million.

Introduced by Constellation as an offshoot of Stone’s famous Ginger Wine, Ginger Joe faced a dual-pronged challenge. First, as a new category product, Ginger Joe needed to entice consumers unfamiliar with ginger beer. Second, the brand needed to successfully differentiate itself in a marketplace dominated by leading brand Crabbie's.

Walk into a Target store any time through June 10 and you might think you got caught in the spin cycle of a time machine. That's because you'll find the venerable Procter & Gamble brands Tide, Bounce and Downy available on Target's shelves in limited edition retro packaging.

Made-to-order is a booming business category for two reasons: the economy, and the fact that customized goods, although more expensive than their mass-produced counterparts, pay for the difference with the feel-good factor.

The range of goods is as broad as the day is long, including $1,250 custom bedding from Create-a-Mattress, above, a start-up in Needham, Mass., founded by former Dial-A-Mattress executive Evan Saks.
