Mad Men Stars Make Hay on Hiatus

It's fun to watch other Mad Men stars (beyond Jon Hamm and January Jones) ascend.

The latest video from Brooklyn band The National was conceived by Mad Men season one guest star Kristen Schaal and her fellow Daily Show writer — so naturally, she plays the president of the United States.

In a plot twist out of The Bodyguard, she catches the eye of Slattery, who's also currently in cinemas (as a Fedora-sporting foil to Matt Damon in The Adjustment Bureau) and has been touting Lincoln when not shooting Mad Men.

Also out today: two other Mad Men actors pitching a product that would make their on-screen characters spit out their whiskey.

The following comical ad pitch, for humor site Funny or Die, features Vincent Kartheiser and Rich Sommer in an actual pitch.

While it's mock-set in 1965, the website (!) mentioned at the end, madfasttrains.com, links to real pitch for fast trains by US PIRG, in support of its efforts to promote alternatives to cars:
