GagaVille is Live, as Lady Gaga Takes Over (and Makes Over) Farmville

Posted by Shirley Brady on May 17, 2011 12:30 PM

The innovative collaboration between Zynga and relentless marketer Lady Gaga (who has a new album, Born This Way, to pitch) is now live. GagaVille opened its doors within the Facebook game phenom that is FarmVille this morning, and will be live through May 26th. Check out details and screenshots below.

As Zynga notes and the above trailer teases, the GagaVille farm doesn't feature any flannels or overalls, but (appropriately) motorcycle-riding sheep, unicorns and lots of bling. "Inspired by Lady Gaga’s unique style, this magical crystal paradise gives you exclusive access to an un-released song from Born This Way every day from May 17 through May 19, and a hand-picked selection of songs from the album on May 20 through May 23."

The co-promotion also covers virtual items to add across Zynga's Facebook games, a word of the day sweepstakes and a tie-in with Best Buy, which will add "Gaga. Gifts. Games" point-of-sale racks with $25 Zynga game gift cards to its stores — each purchase includes a free download of Gaga's new album. Additionally, Best Buy is running a sweepstakes with a grand prize sure to entice the star's fan-army of monsters: an all-expenses paid "3-day, 2-night trip for the winner to spend a day on the set of Lady Gaga’s next music video to view the behind the scenes creative collaboration process."
